Eight Months

Jackson is 8 1/2 months old now!

At 8 months old, Jackson:

• Laughs and smiles a lot


• Reaches for anything in his path


• LOVES remote controls and telephones


• LOVES bath time - when we walk into the bathroom and he hears the water running he gets the biggest grin on his face


• Says dadadada and lots of other sounds


• Definitely has a sweet tooth (like his mommy) - he prefers the fruits over the veggies but will eat them mixed


• Can pick up a big piece of cantaloupe or pear and suck on it and gum little pieces off


• Still does not have any teeth


• Got his first ear infection


• Can drink from his sippy cup


• Loves to snuggle - he will lay his head on your shoulders and wrap his arms around your neck - I LOVE it!


• Seems to catch every cold out there


• Loves to watch the cat and he will giggle when she meows


• Looks for things he drops or someone who leaves the room


• Wears clothes that are 9 - 12 months

December Monthly Dinner

For the past six years, I have been getting together with two of my best girlfriends and their families for dinner each month. Unfortunately, my friend Amanda just moved to Virginia so our dinners will just be with Katherine and her family now.

The good news is that our friend, Lauri, from Houston and her family came for the December dinner. All three of us have little boys so it was so much fun for all of us to be able to hang out. Our time together is a little bit different now that we all have children. It's not quite as easy to talk and catch up, but we've been close friends for so long that it really doesn't matter. We are just thankful when we get to be together.

What You Talking About Santa?

Laine picked the title for this one!

We visited Santa tonight. We decided to go on a week night because I have no patience for the Frisco crowds on a weekend. There were no tears! Yea! This is how it went down: Jackson immediately looked at Santa (see below) and then the rest of the time his hands were sticking straight out with legs kicking as if to say "come and get me mommy!" We were able to pick from three pictures and this was the best one.
