Catching Up!

I'm seriously behind!!  We have been so busy this summer.  I can't believe we are already one third through.  We've been having lots of fun adventures.  Here's some of what we've been up to.

brothers playing around

summer hair cut and beautiful blue eyes

Jackson took swimming lessons in early June.  He would crack me up because whenever it wasn't his turn to go he would play with the props instead of watching like he was supposed to.  He did well but he was not a fan of floating on this back and when jumping to the teacher he would only do it if he was holding  their hands.

We have spent a lot of time with our friends, Jacob, Luke,  and Sarah.  Definitely one of the highlights of our week.  I am so thankful that we live close enough to get together so easily.

We played at Aunt Anne's for Father's Day and Ryan got in the pool for the first time.  Thanks Jacob and Lukie for letting us use your hand me down sun hat!

Ryan loved petting the puppy dogs with G

and snuggling with Dada.

We went to my mom's house.  Alex and Jackson played (and fought) together a lot.  Ryan had a tooth coming in so he basically cried/fussed the whole time.

Jackson is not a very good driver.  :-)

While at mom's, we took Jackson to see his very first movie at the theater.  Of course it was Cars 2!  I think Jackson's favorite part was that I let him eat as much popcorn as he wanted.  We payed for it later with 4-5 trips to the bathroom at bedtime.  It really was fun to experience his first movie with him.

The best part of the trip was getting to visit with Nana.

Hope you all have enjoyed a great start to your summer too!

Seriously?

This just makes me laugh so I had to share.  Today we took Jackson to Target to pick out a car from the new Cars movie.  He had saved up enough money so the whole family went to help him make his purchase.  Out of all the cool sports cars and neat colored cars he picked this one.  His name is Acer.  He's one of the bad guys from the new movie.  It just makes me laugh that he picked out this junker.  I'm sure this is just the first of many many choices he will make that I will never understand.  :-)

We've Got a Crawler!

Ryan is crawling!  If he is motivated enough, he will put forth the effort to crawl.  It's funny to watch him because once he gets close to an item he wants, he plops down and tries to reach it.  You can see in this video he didn't get quite close enough to touch the laptop keys so he has to get back up.

He is VERY motivated by remotes, laptops, and phones!

PLEASE excuse the very dirty room.

Summer Is Here!

Ryan is getting closer and closer to crawling.  He gets up on all fours and moves forward a bit but then he just plops down on the floor and reaches as hard as he  can for whatever  he wants.  You can tell he really wants to crawl.  Poor guy.  Hopefully he will get there soon.

We've been spending a lot of time outdoors.  Jackson and Ryan are enjoying their little pools.  Jackson is also taking swimming lessons right now.  I'll have to try to snap some pictures next week.  He seems to be enjoying them.

Both boys just seem to be growing up so fast.  It's hard to believe Ryan will be one year old in a little over 2 months.  He's becoming very busy and active now even though he's still not crawling.

Jackson is becoming quite the outgoing little guy.  He talks to EVERYBODY and asks their name.  His newest thing is asking people to come over to his house.  The other day we were at the ENT and while I was checking out he walked into one of the offices where there were some ladies working and asked their names and told them about his new big boy bed.  He then proceeded to ask them to come over to see his bed.  At his three year appointment Dr. G said it was time to have the "stranger danger" talk and I can see why we need to since he has now invited half the city to the house.

Jackson also has quite the imagination these days.  In fact, just yesterday he had a very long conversation with me about the giraffe that is living in his pocket.  LOVE this part of him being three.  It's so fun!

Hope you all are enjoying your summer too!
