Jackson at 6 and Ryan at 4

Both boys had their well checks a few months ago.  Jackson continues to be on the small side like his mom and dad.  At 6 years old he weighs 41.6 pounds (20th percentile) and is 44.5 inches tall (23rd percentile.)

Ryan is a little bigger.  At 4 years old he weighs 39.4 pounds (75th percentile) and is 40.5 inches tall (54th percentile.)

We are so thankful that both boys are very healthy!  Right now they are really both into the same things.  They both still love Legos, playing outside, going to church, watching Pokemon and school.  One thing that amazes me is how much they both LOVE to color.  They will spend an entire afternoon coloring.  Their newest thing is coming up with something they'd like to color and then we google images and print out a coloring page.  We need to invest in some serious printer ink!  They also love just creating things with paper, glue, scissors, etc.  My kitchen is a mess 24/7 but I try not to get too stressed since I know it's better than being parked in front of the TV.  They are both so outgoing and make friends very easily.  They also enjoy talking to and interacting with adults as well.

Ryan's speech school had a fun run last week.  He really wanted to go so we all went.  I asked for a picture and here is what I got.  He has such a funny personality.

Here's the funny thing...Jackson was talking about how he was going to win and bring home a trophy, etc. and then I see Laine and the boys coming around the corner and they are walking with irritated looks on their faces and Jackson is playing with his hair.  He declared that the run was not fun.  Ha!

I got to go on Jackson's Kindergarten field trip to the pumpkin patch.  We had a lot of fun.  I was so thankful to be able to go with him.

We had Jackson's conference last week and he is doing GREAT!  He is doing awesome academically and behaviorally.  His teacher said that he works hard, follows directions, and obeys the rules.  She said he works well with anyone and that all the kids like him and want to be his friend.  I was beaming.  I might have been a little more excited than the average parent after that conference.  Six years of tears (many from me), time outs, spankings, privileges taken away and prayer went into finally getting a great report from a teacher.   I am so proud of him and I know he feels really good about how well he is doing.  He loves his teacher.  In fact he spends a lot of time drawing her pictures, making bracelets with beads, and creating other special things for her.  It's really very sweet.

I have loved reading some of his writing samples.  I am thankful that he feels comfortable writing and sharing about God at school.

God made your five senses.  God made your five senses to taste and smell and touch and to see.

God is always watching out for you.  God can always see you.  God takes care of you.

Closing out September

Ryan's teacher sent this picture of him on the playground at school.  He is loving it.

We recently got a play set from a friend that was moving and needed to get rid of it.  We ended up having to replace quite a bit of wood that was rotten.  We finally got it up over the last two weeks.  I think Laine is going to try to build a picnic table underneath.

Our church playgroup went to The Colony Fire Station last week.  Lots of fun was had by all!

Laine and I went to a dinner and auction with some church friends the other night.  We never get dressed up so I figured we needed to document it with a picture!
