First Day of Kindergarten

Jackson started Kindergarten on Monday.  He was so excited and ready to start!  He had a great first day and there were no tears from any of us.  Poor Ryan has asked about 10 times each day when Jackson is coming home.  Unfortunately, as the week went on Jackson started wearing down and he didn't really want to go back.  He said it was too big and he felt lost all the time.  He ended up in the day care line at the end of the day on Tuesday and that really upset him.  We talked about it and prayed about it and I assured him I'd be there waiting for him even if he goes the wrong way.  Thankfully the week ended with him in better spirits.  It is just going to take some time for him to figure it all out.  His teacher seems great and Jackson seems to really like her.  He told me one afternoon that she called him "cutie-pie" and that made him feel special.

Here are a few pictures from our first week.

The day before school started our church prayed over the kids starting Kindergarten and they each got a new Bible.

First day!  He still wants to be a construction builder.

We are so thankful we can just walk down the street to school.  It only takes us 5 minutes.

Before school started Jackson and I made him a little key chain for his backpack.  The cross reminds him how much God loves him and the heart reminds him how much we love him.  I know the backpack is huge but it's the one he picked out!

One last picture as we left the room.
