Four Months

Ryan had his 4 month appointment today. Here are his stats:

17 lbs, 10 oz (95th %)

25.8 inches (90th %)

BIG BOY! Unfortunately Ryan is a little sick right now and has an ear infection. :-( Uggghhh. I can't believe it's already starting. I'm betting he's going to have to get tubes like Jackson if he already has his first infection at 4 months. Ryan has a very stuffy nose that Dr. G is worried might turn into RSV so we are sucking his nose and using saline a lot. I'm just thankful that we are not traveling this holiday. Of course, Jackson is sick too. Pretty sure he's the one that got us all sick. I'm feeling pretty crummy myself.

Other than that Ryan is a very healthy little boy. We are so thankful for this!

Here's what Ryan is up to these days:
* Putting his hands in his mouth ALL the time

* Taking 3-4 naps a day (depending on their length) and eating every 2 1/2 - 4 hours. He's really able to go a good amount of time between feedings now.

* Starting to grab at things and pull towards his mouth

* Sitting up in Bumbo and exersaucer

* Not doing a lot during tummy time - no turning over yet

* Smiling, cooing, laughing, and just being a generally happy little guy

* Wearing size 6 - 9 months clothes

* Wearing size 3 diapers

* Going to bed between 7 and 8 p.m. and sleeping til 7 - 8 a.m. As mentioned in the earlier post he's sleeping much better at night and eating once later in the morning. The past two nights have had more waking because of the stuffy nose but that's to be expected.

* Kicks his legs like CRAZY in the bouncy seat - I think it's his favorite

I remember with Jackson it was around 4 months that I really started to think things got easier and I think it's the same with Ryan. This is the time when they start sleeping better, going longer between feedings, and just seem to be much happier. Yea!

It's been warm here so we took advantage of that and took the boys on a walk to see Christmas lights. This was Ryan's first time to sit in the stroller without the carseat. He seemed to enjoy it.

And for fun let's take a look at Jackson in his exersaucer at about 6 months

and again at 2 1/2 years.

Now this has absolutely nothing to do with this post but I found these two pictures when I was looking for one of him in the exersaucer. I sure do miss his sweet hair!! Where did my little boy go???

Oh, my gosh, I have missed seeing that hair, too! LOL! Always reminded me of Zack's. Ryan is growing like a little weed! Love it! The weather was perfect for a walk to look at lights. I'll take a warm Christmas any day, though I think the cold is coming back! I hope that you are all feeling well by the time you read this! Merry Christmas, Dana!

I LOVE reading all about sweet Ryan! He is such a precious chub, I love it!! And I am SOOOO thrilled for you that he is sleeping so well at night. What a blessing for Mama!! I'm so sorry you all are under the weather. Hopefully you'll improve for the holidays.

I can relate to the early ear infections...Kaitlynn started them at 6 weeks and they didn't stop until after she turned 1 year. BUT, so far so good since then (fingers crossed) so you never know!

I love looking back at pictures of our kids when they were younger. It's such a shock sometimes to see how small and precious they were. So feel free to post old pics of your boys anytime - I love looking back!

I with Lauri- I love, love, love the old pics. I'm sure you can tell by all the comparison pics I post! :) It's fun to take a look back. That Jackson did have some hair didn't he! So sweet!

Sweet Ryan is doing great. SO sad he has his first ear infection. I so hope everyone is well by Christmas day. He and Sarah are just about the same size, that makes me laugh.

Wishing the Ewings a very Merry Christmas! :)
